Youth Connection Theatre Company is an amateur theatre company based just outside Chester-le-Street, Co. Durham. It was formed 24 years ago, from senior students, past students and other members of the community. The group still has the same aims; to enable as many young people as possible to experience a wide variety of Drama, and have fun along the way. Credits to date include performances at the Edinburgh Festival, tours of France, Germany, Slovakia, Hungary and Russia, participation in a major International Drama Festival and performances at several major professional London Theatres including, the Royal National.
We usually perform about two to three productions a year at our base. This is normally at Christmas and summer. However, if you look at our 'past productions' you can see that we do other things and 'get about a bit'. Please contact us if you require more details.
Many members of the group are now working in TV and professional theatre in several capacities; acting, designing and technical crew.
The group is entirely self funding and is grateful for any contribution whether it is participation or audience support - or even money!
